Welcome, I’m Bonifác Gombos

Intro lead cycles between two phrases. First: I design product UX for large-scale data platforms at Cloudera—especially flows that have to work for admins and operators. Second: Experimenting with generative and agentic tools to shorten the loop from discovery to final craft.

Background

I’m a product designer at Cloudera, where I lead UX and information architecture for data platform teams. I started in startups; what kept me engaged was enterprise depth—translating engineering-heavy concepts (security federation, data tiering, and similar) into workflows admins and operators can run with confidence.

I focus on problems that sit below the obvious UI: storage, migration, disaster recovery, and how teams coordinate around them. I connect system-level thinking with clear information architecture and visualization, so large data environments stay understandable in day-to-day operations, not only in architecture diagrams.

Mission

At Cloudera I focus on the services that make data platforms operable globally: especially Day 0 and Day 1 onboarding—moving data, metadata, and security policies into production without guesswork. Whether it’s notification patterns or workload migration, I optimize for adoption by making enterprise operations legible and repeatable.

Outside individual flows, I’m experimenting with agentic and generative tools inside our design process—faster research synthesis, cleaner handoff, less time on production glue—so the team can spend more judgment on architecture and product tradeoffs.
